Solihull Churches Action on Homelessness
Solihull Welcome
This welcome is offered to asylum seekers attending the UK Border Agency centre at Sandford House in Homer Road.
Refreshments, friendly conversation and advice, children's clothes and toys are all provided by a team of volunteers at St Augustine's Catholic Church hall, Herbert Road.
Members of Solihull Welcome are resuming the pre-pandemic service of welcoming asylum seekers to Saint Augustine’s parish hall. Those seeking asylum are required to sign on at Sandford House in Homer Road on a regular basis. This will take place on Wednesday mornings during the month of September between 10.00am - 1.00pm. Volunteers would be most welcome. If you have time to volunteer please contact Mr. John Bradley at [email protected] or telephone 07976939974. This will take place initially for the month of September and will continue thereafter if there is sufficient demand. Do please consider volunteering.
Marriage Care – Volunteers Needed!
Catholic Marriage Care are looking for volunteers to join the Birmingham Team. We are looking for Marriage Preparation Facilitators to present and facilitate courses for engaged couples and Chaperones to support with Counselling sessions on Thursdays daytime (between 11AM and 2PM) in St Joseph House which is part of Sacred Heart and Holy Souls Church-Acocks Green.
