SOLIHULL TOWN CENTRE CHAPLAINCY
The Chaplaincy are a team of ten trained volunteers who offer pastoral support to workers and management in the businesses in the central Solihull shopping centre - Touchwood and Mell Square.
‘Work is a very important part of many people’s lives. As well as being a source of income it is where relationships are formed and reformed, dreams shattered, people’s lives are moulded and shaped and communities moulded. Work can be a very positive experience and it can be a source of stress and unhappiness.
As well as coming with a cheery smile and presence chaplains are there to offer comfort and hope in times of trouble and encouragement and thanks giving in times of joy.
If you are interested in participating in this ministry or you would like your business to receive the chaplaincy's support, please contact the team leader Beryl Moppett firstname.lastname@example.org
Reflections & Training Course
Nearly everyone is busy at Christmas time – not least the town centre shop keepers. For the town centre chaplaincy team it’s delivering Christmas cards and mince pies.
Now, post-Christmas it’s time for reflection on these small gestures – so much appreciated by the recipients as they are made aware that they are valued and appreciated. But sadly what is the case is that for some whom we visit, this maybe the only
contact that we will have with them until next December
So can you help fill the gaps by becoming a member of the Town Centre Chaplaincy team and taking on the responsibility of calling in on a few of the ‘unvisited’ shops?
As it happens the next ‘Introduction to Workplace chaplaincy’ course (six weeks) is starting soon -Monday 6th February 5.00 – 7.00pm at the Diocesan Office 1 Colmore Row (by Snow Hill Station).
Please do get in touch with me if you would like to know more
